our why

More than Medical Billing

I started Peak Revenue Management with medical billing, but I learned quickly that billing is never just billing.

A provider can be doing incredible work and still lose money if the credentialing is wrong, the software is not set up correctly, the front office is missing key information, denials are not being worked, or the accounting is not in order. Most practices do not even know where the breakdown is happening.

That is why Peak has grown the way it has. Every service we offer came from digging in deeper with our clients.

Medical billing showed me where claims were breaking down. Auditing and training allowed us to find the source of the problem. Credentialing became essential because billing cannot work if the payer foundation is not in place. Business development came next because revenue coming in does not mean much if the owner does not understand what is going out.

I teach Medical Coding and Insurance Billing at Montana State University Billings, which keeps me current on industry requirements, payer expectations, compliance updates, and best practices. It also gives me access to talented people who are learning this field the right way from the beginning.

Most clients come to us thinking they need one thing: billing, credentialing, an audit, or help with their books. But what they really need is a revenue partner who can see the full picture, find what is costing them money, and build the systems they need to run a profitable practice.

That is what we do at Peak.

Credentialed. Verified. Trusted.

Every member of our team is credentialed through the AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders), the industry standard for medical coding and billing certification. That means every person working on your account has passed rigorous testing on coding accuracy, compliance, and regulatory requirements, not just learned it on the job. For you, that translates directly into fewer errors, cleaner claims, and less risk of denials or compliance issues down the line. When you work with Peak Revenue, you’re not hoping your billing is handled correctly. You know it is.

The right fit matters

The Clients We Partner With

We do our best work alongside practices that want a true partner, not a hand-off. Every client is different, but the ones who thrive with us tend to share a few things in common.

You want to understand your numbers
You don’t want to stay in the dark. You want to learn the business behind the billing, and you want your staff to grow right along with you.
This works when everyone is bought in, from you to your front desk. The revenue cycle starts with your whole team, so the best fit is a practice ready to engage, not one looking to set it and forget it.
You know real change isn’t a quick fix. You want a strong financial foundation that grows with you over the years, and you are ready to build it the right way.

Medical billing

Rebecca Schlichenmayer

Founder | Managing Director
CPC, CPB-I, RCMS

Healthcare has been at the center of Rebecca Schlichenmayer’s professional journey for more than two decades. As the founder and owner of Peak Revenue Management, LLC, Rebecca combines firsthand clinical experience, payer-side expertise, provider billing knowledge, business leadership, and a passion for education to help healthcare organizations strengthen their revenue cycle and achieve financial success.

Rebecca has proudly called Billings, Montana home for the past 16 years. Her healthcare career began at age 18 when she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential and worked directly with patients. This early experience gave her a deep appreciation for patient care and an understanding of the challenges healthcare providers face every day.

After earning her Associate’s Degree in Human Resources from Montana State University Billings, Rebecca joined Employee Benefit Management Services (EBMS), where she served as both a Client Service Representative and Claims Examiner. During her time there, she gained valuable insight into insurance operations, claims adjudication, reimbursement methodologies, and payer-provider relationships. Understanding healthcare from the insurance perspective provided a unique foundation that would later become one of her greatest strengths in revenue cycle management.

Rebecca later expanded her professional experience through financial planning with New York Life, where she developed expertise in business strategy, financial analysis, client relationships, and long-term planning. Working closely with individuals and businesses strengthened her understanding of financial management and reinforced the importance of creating sustainable, long-term solutions for clients.

Following her time in financial planning, Rebecca joined Rimrock Foundation, where she managed billing and collections. There, she was able to bring together her healthcare background, insurance expertise, and financial knowledge to support the organization’s revenue cycle and reimbursement processes. Working directly on the provider side allowed her to bridge the gap between insurance operations and healthcare delivery while helping improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

The combination of clinical experience, insurance knowledge, financial planning, and provider-side revenue cycle management ultimately inspired Rebecca to establish Peak Revenue Management. Today, she partners with healthcare organizations to provide medical billing, coding support, revenue cycle management, credentialing, consulting, and practice support services. Rebecca’s diverse background allows her to view challenges from every angle—patient, provider, payer, educator, and business owner—helping clients improve operational efficiency, maximize reimbursement, and build financially sustainable practices.

Rebecca holds an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources and a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Communication from Montana State University Billings. She also maintains multiple professional certifications through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), including Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Revenue Cycle Management Specialist (RCMS), and Certified Professional Biller Instructor (CPB-I). These credentials reflect her commitment to excellence in healthcare revenue cycle management, coding, billing, and professional education.

In addition to leading Peak Revenue Management, Rebecca serves as a full-time instructor for the Medical Coding and Insurance Billing Program at Montana State University Billings. As an AAPC Certified Professional Biller Instructor (CPB-I), she is passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of healthcare revenue cycle professionals. She enjoys sharing real-world industry experience with her students and helping prepare them for successful careers in coding, billing, and healthcare administration. Her commitment to both the profession and her students keeps her at the forefront of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

When she’s not working with clients or teaching, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family, taking walks, practicing yoga, and listening to true crime podcasts while tackling projects and staying productive.

“My goal is simple: help healthcare providers spend less time worrying about revenue and more time focusing on the patients and communities they serve.”
